Genteeeee!!! Ho finalmente trovato un sito con news in inglese su cosa succede qui in Finlandia e mi ha subito colpito questo articolo:

Unemployment Figures Down

Unemployment was down on the previous year in January, according to figures from Statistics Finland. In January the figures showed an unemployment rate of 8.2 percent, which means around 215,000 people. The figure is 35,000 less than a year earlier.

According to Statistics Finland, youth unemployment has clearly fallen. In January 19.1 percent of 15-24 year-olds were out of work, which is 3.6 percent lower than the previous year’s figure.

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy also released figures on Tuesday. According to the Ministry, the number of unemployed was 266,000 at the end of January, a reduction of 29,000 on the previous year.

Unemployment came down all over Finland, according to the ministry. The fall was most pronounced in South Ostrobothnia, Ostrobothnia, Pirkanmaa and North Savo.

The Ministry claims that the workforce grew as a result of various labour market policies, including training. Those benefitting from such programmes numbered 107,000 at the end of January, a rise of 19,000 on the previous year.

The Ministry estimates unemployment at a higher rate than Statistics Finland because they include those who are not actively looking for work, but are registered with the unemployment office.

Mi sono poi messa a cercare informazioni sull'Italia e ho trovato questo, pubblicato il 1 Febbraio 2011: 

Disoccupazione giovanile, in Italia è ancora record

Il tasso di disoccupazione giovanile (15-24 anni) a dicembre è salito al 29% dal 28,9% di novembre, segnando così un nuovo record, si tratta, infatti, del livello più alto dall’inizio delle serie storiche mensili, ovvero dal gennaio del 2004. Lo comunica l’Istat in base a dati destagionalizzati e a stime provvisorie. Il tasso di occupazione, pari al 57 per cento, risulta stabile rispetto a novembre e in riduzione di 0,1 punti percentuali rispetto allo stesso periodo dell’anno precedente.

Il numero delle persone in cerca di occupazione risulta in diminuzione dello 0,5 per cento rispetto a novembre, e in aumento del 2,5 per cento rispetto a dicembre 2009. Il tasso di disoccupazione, pari all’8,6 per cento, rimane stabile rispetto a novembre; in confronto a dicembre 2009 il tasso di disoccupazione registra un aumento di 0,2 punti percentuali.
